Agreement will make LUCI’s smart technology available on ROVI Mobility’s ROVI X3
NASHVILLE, Tenn., and TORONTO – Sept. 14, 2021 – Officials with LUCI and Motion Concepts, the Canadian-based seating and mobility subsidiary of Invacare Corp., announced today an agreement that will make LUCI’s state-of-the-art safety technology system available to riders of the ROVI X3 power wheelchair. The companies hope to make the product available across the United States before the end of the year.

Designed with one of the narrowest wheelbases in the industry, the mid-wheel drive ROVI X3 was created for adults and children with active lifestyles. Its design allows for precision driving and maneuverability in tight spaces and is ideal for users who utilize alternative drive control devices, such as a head array or proximity switch tray.
The LUCI safety system, which is fully compatible with these alternative drive controls, uses cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors to help prevent wheelchair accidents, including collisions, tipping over, or curb drop-offs.
